My Industry, My Network, My Future…My Beauty!
My Beauty Expo 2019 is proud to announce its very first exhibition, taking a comprehensive approach to the professional beauty industry unlike any other platform showcased in SA before. Uplifting, growing and innovating the professional beauty industry continent wide, by connecting trade to business with a sustainable approach beyond 2030 is what the expo aims to achieve. My Beauty Expo will be taking place on the 9th – 11th June 2019 in Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre.
“My Beauty Expo (MBE) aims at facilitating networking and connecting business opportunities in real time. We will be linking businesses to business in a buyers’ meeting area between serious professionals visiting the expo (who will complete a pre-registration vetting process) and suppliers, importers, exporters, distributors, wholesalers, franchisors, manufacturers, packaging, branding specialists, raw materials agents and many more. We will be placing your company directly in front of your target audience”, explains Tarryn Sacher, Operations Director.
The South African cosmetics industry is worth a staggering R27.3 billion and employs over 60 000 people. The industry has experienced a 4.6% growth rate over the last two years with a surge in sales across the male grooming and colour cosmetics categories.
Africa is a new gateway for the cosmetics industry and Margaret Mouton, Strategy Director for My Beauty Expo, intends to take this concept to the International and African markets. “It’s time to change the industry and Africa is ready to showcase their brand of beauty to the world, MBE is the platform for them to do it”, she explains. “Primarily a trade expo, however the expo will be open to consumers one out of the three days with access to designated areas.”
The expo will dedicate an entire ground floor of Sandton Convention Centre just for African-related services, products and brands. International brands and affiliates will be located on the first floor, with the mezzanine level reserved for food and nutrition. Interactive and live demo stations will add to brand innovation and increase buyers’ attention.
Mouton further explains what to expect: “The most acclaimed local and international brands from hospitality, fitness, wellness, nutrition, hair, makeup, nails, beauty, aesthetics, food, décor, fittings, manufacturing all under one roof. The expo will encompass all related sectors to the professional beauty industry, showcasing the latest technology and adding value to the industry, as a whole.”
MBE will include an advanced education programme which is included in the entrance fee for each attendee comprising of local and international thought-leaders and experts presenting in their specific sector. The expo goes beyond just showcasing brands - its aim is on up-skilling and uplifting the industry in areas of business, hair, makeup, aesthetics and marketing.
“We are building a simple and informative platform to showcase the new My Beauty Expo brand”, explained Donovan Gaddin, Managing Director of Advanced Wellness Distribution “The event and membership systems will provide a dynamic platform for members, visitors, exhibitors, sponsors and traders to make the most of their My Beauty Expo journey well into the future.”
